Kaspersky Lab enters Malaysia Book of Records for most devices scanned, (During PC Fair II)

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 AUGUST 2009 &ndash Security solutions firm Kaspersky Lab has entered the Malaysia Book of Records for the highest number of devices scanned for viruses, held recently during the PIKOM PC Fair 2009.
Kaspersky Lab Southeast Asia managing director, Gun Suk Ling, said 1,157 devices, which included thumb drives, hard drives and laptops, were scanned for viruses at the companys Kung Fu Virus Lab, set up during the PIKOM [Malaysias national ICT industry association] PC Fair.
Gun said the activity was officiated by the minister of housing and local government, Dato Seri Kong Cho Ha, who was the first participant to scan a device, followed by PIKOM chairman, David Wong, and chairman of the Association of Backpackers Malaysia (ABM), Datuk Dr Wong Sai Hou.

Kaspersky is the only security firm in Malaysia to have undertaken this feat," added Gun. Kaspersky Lab could not have set the record if it hadnt garnered support from the throngs of people who participated and visited the Kaspersky Kung Fu Virus Lab."
