Kaspersky stamps itself with 1Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, DECEMBER 4 In a strange bid to make itself more appealing to young Malaysians as well as local stamp collectors, Kaspersky has decided to market itself by bundling its products with their own 1Malaysia stamps.

Encased in a green booklet with Jackie Chan in a white helmet on the cover, the stamps depict blanklysmiling ovalshaped cartoon characters with the 1Malaysia logo. The stamps are valued at 30 cents each, and are represented as a joint effort between Kaspersky and POS Malaysia.

VT Nathan, President of the Philatelic Society of Malaysia cited that there was no cure for the N1H1 virus, calling it a gift to pharmaceutical companies, as they would stand to make lots of money from the N1H1 virus. Likewise, Nathan endorsed Kaspersky by citing that its antivirus products stood to make lots of money from computer viruses. Nathan also called the stamps a good idea, and compared them to a lot of door gifts that were given out at events such as PC Fair, calling the door gifts meaningless.

Kaspersky Lab Asia Pacifics Managing Director, Harry Cheung said that the 1st Malaysia concept touched his heart and hoped that customers who got these 1Malaysia stamps would keep them for the next generation.
