Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4When accessing a network resource for the first time, the PC will request a DNS server name. This name is then placed into a special storage
(cache) on the PC and will be used when you access the same resource in the future. This option accelerates the work of local network or Internet, but lowers your PC security level. That is why you have an option to
Disable DNS Cache during
Kaspersky Anti-Virus installation.

If you want to disable DNS cache but have not done so during installation of the
Kaspersky Anti-Virus, you can enable the function
Disable DNS Cache by means of the Windows OS:
Quote:* Click Start, then Run
Quote:* Type in the command SERVICES.MSC and press Enter
Quote:* Find the service DNS Client in the list of services
Quote:* Double left-click it with your mouse to open the DNS Client Properties
Quote:* Select Disabled in the Startup Type field
Quote:* Click Start to run the DNS Client service immediately or click OK and reboot your PC.

If you want to enable DNS cache, select
Automatic instead of
Disable in the
DNS Client service startup type field.
